Below you will find Lab assignments pertaining to Network+. These labs include topics such as changing IP addresses, WINS, DNS, netstat, hardware, and more. All of these labs are consistent with what you might find in a Network+ college course.

5. Use netstat to determine all TCP and UDP connections.

6. Use netstat to show IP Statistics, ICMP Statistics, TCP Statistics, and UDP Statistics.

7. Use nbtstat to display the local NetBIOS name cache of the machine you are using.

8. Use the ping utility to resolve an IP address to a host name.

9. Use both winipcfg and ipconfig to discover your computer’s IP address.

Also notice the information assigned by the DHCP server.

10. Use the tracert utility to trace the route to www.microsoft.com.

11. Then try tracing to another computer in the same building. Finally, use tracert to trace the route to another computer in the same city, but in a different building. Examine the differences and similarities in the routes.

12. Physically install a NIC in a computer. Next, install the NIC drivers and test it.

13. Configure the Windows Client on the computer you just installed a new NIC in.

14. Use a wire crimper to attach an RJ-45 connector onto a piece of Category5 cable. Use a tester to test your connections. Use a punchdown tool to attach a piece of Category 5 cable to a wall jack or punchdown block.

15. Install a Windows 2000 Client on a Windows 2000 computer.

16. Install a Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks on a computer that can access a NetWare Network.
