Home Hotel Administration Food And Culture Food And Culture Homework Greek Lunch

Today, I attended my second group lunch. The lunch took place at Opa Restaurant. I was really excited to attend this after the experience I had with my first group lunch. As with the first group lunch there were many food items to sample at this lunch. Unlike our lunch at Sam Woo, we were each served an individual plate. This does not mean we had less food. In fact, we were able to try several Greek recipes. Lunch started with a Greek salad. The salad was excellent and consisted of lettuce, kalamata olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, and an herb vinaigrette. Then the sample platter arrived. The sample platter included moussaka, rice, peas, potatoes, roasted leg of lamb, and grape leaves with lemon sauce. All of the food was very good. My personal favorite was the lamb; I love leg of lamb. My least favorite was the moussaka. I am just not partial to eggplant. I did eat the other ingredients of the moussaka and they were rather tasty. The décor of this restaurant was rather nice. It seemed to be rather modern. I cannot be sure as to whether it is reminiscent of Greek décor as we did not have an attendee that had actually been to Greece. All in all, this was an excellent experience and I am glad I have had the opportunity to attend these group lunches.
