In the English section there is information compiled from three courses. The information if intermingled because the courses cover much of the same materials and they make sense intermingled.
Composition I: Course Description: A writing intensive course designed to strengthen college-level composition skills, with particular attention to audience, purpose and context for writing. Strategies of planning, drafting and revising. Research, primary and/or secondary, is introduced through the use of outside resources. Additionally, critical reading and thinking strategies are developed.
Composition II: Course Description: Continuation and extension of Composition I with attention to analytical reading and writing, critical thinking, and research methodologies, while emphasizing interpretation, analysis, synthesis and argument.
World Literature I: Introduction to world masterworks from antiquity through the mid-seventeenth century.
