In the American Politics section there is information compiled from three courses. The information is intermingled because the courses cover American Politics to differing extent and they make sense intermingled.

Introduction to American Politics: Course Description: Survey of United States national, state, and local governments.

Ethnic and Minority Politics: Course Description: Examines the role of subcultures in the American political process. Groups studied include traditionally recognized minorities (women, African Americans, Native Americans) as well as white ethnics, Asians, and various Latin-based groups. Focuses on mobilization efforts, policy concerns and obstacles and accomplishments.

Women In Politics: Course Description: History of women in U.S. politics beginning with the suffrage movement. Topics include women as candidates, in office, as administrators, as lobbyists and as political activists. Includes topics on “Women’s Issues,” choice, domestic violence, child support, day care, women’s health and current issues.
